Welcome to the Sustainability Committee and Implementation Task Force’s information page about its first initiative; improving paper recycling on Stevenson University’s campuses. We’re excited to share our rollout project with all the members of the Stevenson community. Being aware of paper, how it’s used, and making it easy for faculty, staff, and students to recycle their paper is paramount to our success. We intend to make it easy, and by making it easy, we hope to make it successful.
Our committee consists of members from the Stevenson University community, including faculty members, staff members, and students–all of us committed to this endeavor. Members of the Environmental Club have been instrumental in researching and analyzing data we have collected. Students in the Public Relations Club have created a logo for our bins and will write updates on our website. Employees of At Once, our housekeeping team, are ready to get on board and help us achieve our recycling goals. Additionally, we are in teh process of creating a logo for our committee. Stay tuned–this logo will be unveiled in the upcoming months.
Blue bins have been distributed in offices and areas on both campuses. Faculty and staff have been instructed on how to use their blue bins for recycling. Stickers will be distributed to adhere to your bins with our recycling slogan on it: “Go Blue For Green–Stevenson Recycles!” So, the blue bin is the recycle bin, and those who want to do their part for the environment can “go blue for green” and place their bins outside their offices on Tuesdays for paper recycling pickup. It’s that easy.
We’re excited to begin Phase I of our recycling project with you. There’s so much we can do as a committee and as an institution. But you know that we need to make it successful: YOU! WE cannot be successful without you. So, think about recycling your paper. Place unwanted paper in the recycle bins. Put them outside your offices on Tuesdays. As more news and information becomes available, we will communicate with your through our new website.
So remember: GO BLUE FOR GREEN. Why? Because Stevenson recycles!
